Chief Operating Officer Carrier Bids Golden Nugget Adieu
The 60-year-old Golden Nugget hotel and casino has been letting go of its executives, who are expert industry players.
Golden Nugget Chief Operating Officer Andre Carrier has officially resigned, although he is expected to stay until after the summer.
Carrier, 35, said he is saddened by effectively leaving the gaming industry, but he is also excited to pursue the possibility of running a consulting company. Carrier has been in the gaming industry for 14 years now.
Asked why his career shift developed so sudden, Carrier explained that a 70-year-old friend of his has offered to sell his consulting business, but was not willing to wait for him to decide. Hence, having determined he wanted his own business, Carrier quickly made up his mind.
Meanwhile, Golden Nugget spokesperson Sylke Finnegan said that although Golden Nugget Vice President of Marketing Dan Shumny has already left his official position, he is still the resort's consultant.
The Golden Nugget has recently had a makeover worth $200 million and it has just been the initial phase of the overhaul. Part of the revamp is its pool area.
Despite the imminent permanent departure of its executives, Golden Nugget's top goal is still to keep its customer base.
