Gambling and What People Say

There are multitudes of sayings that discus on gambling nowadays. If you do not know any, here is the chance for you to learn some.

"They are the new breed of slot machine-colorful, fancy, exciting, wonderful...and deadly." Slot machines in general look harmless. Some gambling machines can be played for just small price. Their look is all the more inviting, as our technology advances more each day. However, this does not erase the fact that slot machines are still dangerous, even with the innocent look. Even if you don't notice it, you in fact are losing a lot of money in gambling with them.

"If I had the money and the drinking capacity, I'd probably live at a roulette table and let my life go to hell." Some people believe that vices are life's greatest rewards, and if you ask them, they would live a life of vice if they could afford it. These are the people who cannot find joy in other things, or are simply not enjoying their work or their family life. They do not worry about the consequences of gambling or drinking, as long as they're happy. But alas, gambling and drinking cost too much to be one's way of life.

"She got to go to heaven four days early." Bill Clinton said this, and he was talking about his mother who went to Las Vegas few days before she died. Gambling, therefore, is comparable to heaven for some people. Gambling brings happiness that can only be compared to heaven itself.

"A dollar won is twice as sweet as a dollar earned." Why do people love gambling when it has been said that working for your money is better? This is because it is not true that working is better. Of course, when you win, you will most likely appreciate the money because you earned it fast, and you are delighted with your triumph.

"Gambling is an extension of child's play-the difference is that now we keep score with money." In this quotation, gambling is illustrated as a children's game, because the dynamics are almost the same. You have something at stake, you have fun and you compete for it. It is safe to say that many of us indeed are child at heart. After all, a lot of us are involved in gambling. But we must be careful. Unlike when we were kids, now we may lose more than we should.
